Moramanga
Moramanga is located on the RN 2 30 km before Andasibe. The main sources of income is the industrial cultivation of pines and eucalyptus trees, which is gradually developing at the expense of the nearby rainforest.
Andreba
The village of Andreba is located in the region of Lake Alaotra. Small hills surround a vast rice plain and marshes. These hills are suffering from erosion due to massive deforestation, a real environmental disaster.
Zahamena National Park
The park is home to a great wealth of fauna and flora. A true paradise for biologists, you will discover more than 151 species of vascular plants or pteridophytes but also more than 500 species of woody plants, 22 species of palm trees, 60 species of orchids, 10 species of Pandanus as well as an evergreen forest. Concerning the biodiversity of the park, the park is the ideal place to observe an avifauna rich in number but also in species! In fact, nearly 112 species of birds have found refuge there and coexist with many other animal species, including some 40 reptile species, 13 species of lemurs such as diademed sifaka, black-and-white ruffed lemur, the indri, the hairy-eared dwarf lemur, the nocturnal aye-aye and the endemic lake Alaotra bamboo lemur.
