Antsirabe and Tritriva Day Trip

€85 per person

Nestled in the cool highlands, about four hours south of the capital, Antsirabe is a charming town known for its colonial flair and artisanal heritage.

We’ll explore the town in the most authentic way—by rickshaw—as we dive into the local traditions of silk weaving, stone cutting, and zebu horn carving. These time-honored crafts offer a fascinating glimpse into the daily life and creativity of the Malagasy people.

After a break for lunch (not included), we’ll venture out on a scenic drive and a short hike to Lake Tritriva, a mystical volcanic lake tucked inside an extinct crater and framed by dramatic metamorphic cliffs. The peaceful setting and vivid blue waters make for a truly unforgettable experience.

We aim to return to the capital by around 8:00 PM, filled with fresh air and lasting impressions.

Tour Location

The Main Sight of the Tour
Antsirabe
Antsirabe is located about 180 km south from Antananarivo, at an altitude of more than 1,400 meters: we have to say that during the austral winter, it is cold for Madagascar. This ancient spa town has kept its quaint colonial style. Antsirabe is peaceful and calm, perhaps a little sleepy. You can go on lovely mountain bike or horse rides in the Vakinankatatra. In addition, the city has thousands of beautifully decorated rickshaws. Great for hikers, Lac Tritriva and Mt Ibity are great destinations.
